subject: How Important is the Body of an Article in your Article Marketing Campaign [print this page] Copyright (c) 2010 Kat DrewThe body of an article is probably the least important when you compare it to the importance of the title and the resource box. And in an ideal world articles would just have a catchy title and a resource box with nothing in between. That, however, is not allowed so it is best to give your reader something worthwhile to read. Something to keep their attention for a short while and make them want to click on the resource box at the bottom of the page.Ok, how would you go about getting them to read to the bottom as quickly as possible? Leaving a lot of white space is the first trick. To make this possible you need very short sentences and paragraphs.Your paragraphs should only be about 3 to 4 lines long. And your sentences should be as short as possible. Short paragraphs are easier on the eye. Long ones can be quite daunting as the reader is faced with large blocks of text and can easily get bored. And we know how quickly surfers of the internet get bored. The third trick is to write about 6 paragraphs with 70 words or 8 paragraphs with about 50 words. This makes it easy to write a 400 word article and makes it easy to interchange paragraphs if you want to send several unique articles to directories. You can just interchange the paragraphs. For many of the directories it is necessary to have about 350 to 400 words. The plan for writing the actual body is to firstly, explain to the reader what you want to tell them. Secondly, tell them exactly what you said you would tell them in the first part. And, finally, recap on what you wrote in the body.An easy way to write the article, then, is to write the second part first, then the first and finally the third part. The parts of the article are paragraph 1 being the introduction, paragraph 2 being the lead into the body, paragraph 3 is the first main point, paragraph 4 the second main point, paragraph 5 the third main point and paragraph 6 is the conclusion. But when you write the actual article you write paragraph 3 first, then 4 and 5, then back to 1 and 2 and finally paragraph 6. If you find you have a paragraph that is a bit long then you can make it into two, providing more white space and an article that is easier to read.As you can see it is not difficult to write an article in a short space of time with just these couple of tricks. Stick to the plan and you can be writing articles in ten minutes in your lunch break, instead of spending hours. Once you get into the habit of writing it just starts to flow.
