Getting your wardrobe organized can be a real challenge. There are clothes, shoes and accessories that you need to find the right place for. So where do you begin in wardrobe organization? How do you get and keep it organized?

As with all organization projects, getting your wardrobe in shape means purging. Go through every item in your closet and ask yourself if you wear it anymore. If the answer is no, it needs to be either donated or trashed. Remember to only donate items that are in good condition. And if there are items in that closet that you know you will never fit into again, let them go.

The next step is deciding how you want to organize your wardrobe. My preference is to organize by type and season. Other people prefer a wardrobe organization style of sorting by color. The important thing here to remember is keeping in mind how you look for things. When you look for something to wear to work in the morning do you think about what color you want to wear? Or do you think about the fact that you are going to work and need appropriate work clothes?

You are also going to need some kind of storage. You will need to store off season clothes and shoes. Having storage containers for accessories can also sometimes make it easier. Be sure that you label everything so that you know where everything is. Reversible labels can be helpful for seasonal storage containers so that you can simply switch the label when you need to switch out your clothes.
