subject: There Is No Such Thing As Hen Party Without Accessories [print this page]

There is something about a hen night that makes it look like a party popper: it bursts with energy and it stimulates all sorts of senses. But most of all, it relies on the sense of humor. Because laughter is one of the main ingredients of a night like this.

It is a medley of the exuberance in kids' parties, the make-believe in theme parties combined with the unpredictability of surprise parties and with a touch of sexuality. Everything is dynamic: the music needs an exciting beat, head boppers need to bounce, shot glasses need to shuttle, clothes need to sway, and the girls need to move, to shout, to whistle, to sing and to glow in the dark. Yes glow in the dark; neon clothes and make-up can provide for this last need.

The main principle in buying hen night accessories is: pay for anything that makes you laugh. Especially if it is male-bashing. But let's take one at a time.

There is a wide range of party costumes you can purchase for such occasions, from the innocently playful bunny or the seductive cowgirl to the more complex outfits like cops and robbers. And a ball and chain while we're at it. Take this option in consideration when deciding on the present. Speaking of presents, you can also look for a feather boa or a whip. It may come in handy anytime. A garter would be nice too; even nicer, with a shot glass attached.

Unless you are planning to go to a club. For this, take whistle and shot glass necklaces, to spice the mood. The girls will be delighted to wear personalized sashes and vest tops, t-shirts or even hoodies. Maybe you can get them to put on masks with a funny picture of the future bride. And when do you get the chance to wear boppers, if not now? Try them, you will want to take them to the office and the wedding to. Yet refrain from doing so. Wands can come as accessories for any type of outfit.

Take a second basket or a second friend, because here comes the part with the presents. Pick an outfit with neon colors or a sexy costume for the bride to be. Season it with a whip, a garter, a tiara or hat and something feathery. A blow-up male doll can make up for the absence of men. And as long as you stick to a playful tone, the presents will be more than appropriate. And if you add a cake and champagne, you're everyone's best friend and the ideal bridesmaid.
