There are no other ingredients that need to be added in order to create it.

Many people believe that whole milk is a healthy part of a daily diet because of its calcium content-and they would be correct. What few realize, though, is that maple syrup also contains the same amount of calcium as whole milk does. Something else that is interesting to note is the fact that it has 20 less calories per tablespoon that corn syrup. This makes it a much healthier alternative than regular syrup.

Not only does maple syrup have fewer calories than its competitor (regular syrup) but it also has quite a bit of nutritional value as well. It is said that it is also rich in potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus as well as iron. It also contains vitamins B2, B5, B6, niacin, biotin as well as folic acid. In addition to all of these vitamins and minerals, it is even suggested that it contains amino acids also! Another interesting tidbit of information is that many are delighted to hear is the fact that it is 100% fat free. This means it is undoubtedly a healthy and tasty addition to the daily diet for anyone in search of a natural, fat free pancake topping.

Although it is easy to find maple syrup at the nearest grocery store, sugar maples (the vegetation they grow from) are only found in certain provinces. Areas such as upstate New York and Michigan are the main maple-producing areas in the United States. Indeed, with the many wonderful facts about maple syrup, it is a small wonder that so many people are incorporating it into their diets.
