subject: Organizing And Maximizing Vertical Space In Home [print this page]

In many other countries where space is a huge problem, especially in homes, getting stuff organized, throwing things out and also keeping a home tidy is a major difficulty. Hence, here is an article on organizing things.

In small condos and small apartments, it is important to keep the floor space clear of clutter. With a wall-mounted system, vertical space is used to its max and the home naturally looks much cleaner and more organized. So, if you want to have a more organized home, perhaps it is time to look around for a wall-mounted shelving system.

The next process would be called the process of elimination. Over the years, you might have accumulated a whole storeroom of unused and unnecessary items. The old hat and belt that you don't need anymore. The toys that your kids have outgrown. The bicycle with broken wheels and roller skates too. If they are broken, throw them away but if they are in relatively good condition, donate them out to a charitable organization. I am sure there is someone out there who is desperate to learn how to skate.

The next step is called the process of classification. Categorize the items that you intend to keep and allocate specific spaces for them. It makes finding things so much easier. Yes, there ARE people who can live with their very own organized mess, but let's face it, in the hurried and frantic world that we live in today, we can really make use organized space.

Here's a suggestion, if you have kids, get them involved. You will be surprised with how fun kids think categorizing items are. At the same time, you get to teach them (indirectly) about being responsible for their own home.

And then the final step would be to actually displaying stuff, getting them together again. This might take some time too so, don't expect it to be an overnight endeavor.

Be patient, have faith and it can be done. Good luck!
