subject: The One Who Dares, Wins! [print this page] I'm sure you all have heard about this bombastic phrase - The One Who Dares, Wins. But how many of you really believe it and take action when you can? In this article I will try and hopefully succeed in giving you a new point of view to this phrase and if you wish A new point of view to your whole "to dare or not to dare" system.
To start off, let me tell you a little secret about this phrase. Most of us think that the meaning of it is that when you decide to dare you actually raise your chance in winning something.
I see it in another way:
It's the dare itself considered to be the winning and not the result of it!
How many of you saw a girl or a guy in your local pub or some restaurant and wanted to go and talk to him and once your brain cached what you're up to he started sending this bad thoughts about why you shouldn't go and try to talk to him for every thinkable (and usually a lot of unthinkable) reasons. Can you recall how you felt when your opportunity to know this guy or a girl vanished? Regret, disappointment from yourself, frustration and more.
Now let's take it the opposite way, you saw a girl or a guy that you would like to know, in your favorite place and after a while without too much thinking, you just go and try to talk to him. It doesn't matter if you're had your luck with he or she - Can you now recall the feeling that you have after you finished your "dare." Let me tell you how I personally and most of us feels - Just great. We feel courage and strength that we could dared and try something that we had our doubt in it. And as you can see it doesn't really matter what was the result of the dare. It's the dare itself that wins!
So from now on, and I obviously know it isn't easy to start and change your mind so fast, the next time you stumble an opportunity just go for it without thinking so much. You will be thankful for yourself and off course you will save yourself all of these stomach eating thoughts about should or shouldn't I dare.
No doubt it will contribute to your life and you will feel more complete with yourself.
So just remember - It's the dare itself that wins!
