subject: Network Marketing Jobs - Are You Employable? [print this page]

When the economy took nosedive in 2008, millions of people suddenly found themselves without a job. As the economy continued to worsen in the years following, people have suffered more layoffs and the devastating effects of having their unemployment benefits run out on them. If you are one of these people, or if you are stuck in a job you hate, you might consider a network marketing job.

Network marketing companies are always hiring. As long as people are buying their products, MLM companies will need people to sell those products to consumers. If you do your research and find a company who sells products or services you can be passionate about, odds are you can have a job by the end of this week selling those products.

Many people found their way to network marketing jobs because they were out of other options. Unemployment meant they had all day, every day to focus on their business and learn the best techniques and bone up on their internet marketing savvy. They worked their fingers to the bone because they had to - sales were the only way they could keep putting food on the table. And many of these people, who devoted 40, 50, 60 or more hours each week to building a business in the recession, are able to support themselves and their families thanks to network marketing.

It is important to invest wisely, however. If you are unemployed and are not receiving or will soon run out of unemployment benefits, do not spend your savings on a huge inventory to join an MLM company. It can take months to a couple of years to build a profitable business, so don't put all of your nest egg into an MLM opportunity. Invest conservatively in the beginning - what you lack in inventory or marketing materials you can make up for online and in your ability to spend hours a day working your network. As you begin to make a profit, you can reinvest in the business as needed. And avoid any recruiter who knows your financial situation but still wants you to dump your last pennies into their network. A real, true mentor will know that what you lack in funds you can make up for in man hours.

Remember, MLM doesn't pay by the hour or by the week. It pays by the sale and by commission and bonus. If you spend the day watching tv, you've made no money. If you spend the week reading magazines, you've made no money. In order to make a living with network marketing you have to treat it as a job and work at it every day, at least five days per week.

As long as network marketing jobs have existed, people have signed on in times of financial distress. MLM has saved countless people from homelessness or the embarrassment of filing for welfare or just the boredom of staring at the television all day. If you are unemployed, considering a job with network marketing may be the answer to your distress.
