subject: Recession Vs Depression - Learn About The Difference And How You Can Still Earn A Great Income [print this page]

Economic Crisis
Economic Crisis

While it's no secret that we are in a global economic crisis there is some confusion as to what is a recession vs depression. In this article I'll briefly explain the difference between the two and show you some great ways of making money online easily in spite of the economic recession.

So What's the Difference?

An economic recession is measured against a particular country's GDP, or Gross Domestic Product. The GDP provides indices on business activity overall and during a recession there is a slow but steady decline in these areas including jobs creating, production and investments. Recessions must also last for longer than a few months to be so named.

Economic depression is simply a more drastic decline in economic and industrial activity and can lasts for years. There is an unofficial standard of measurement for determining if a recession has turned to a depression: the GDP has to have fallen by more than ten percent and lasts for more than three years. However, these numbers can be manipulated to avoid having to announce a depression.

Because each of these crises include significantly increased unemployment rates, underemployment rates, bankruptcies and housing foreclosures the lines between recession vs depression can become somewhat blurry.

How to Protect Yourself

The single most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to learn everything you can about the economy, the mechanisms behind it and the true causes of recession and depression.

After you have begun to empower yourself with knowledge, I next suggest that you start to look for ways to earn money online easily. There is still a healthy and thriving economy online and I think it's one of your best bets for where to go next.

Whether you decide to go into affiliate marketing, MLM marketing or one of the more recent and innovative Top Tier systems, I strongly recommend you learn about each one before making a final decision.

Due Diligence

Because it's so important I am compelled to reiterate to you: knowledge is power. The only way you are going to be able to protect against the current (and coming) economic crisis is through learning all you can about its causes and what your options are.
