subject: The Magic Of Testimony [print this page] One day, when I was reading the Book of Revelation in my office, I suddenly felt something very tangible. Every time when I feel like the word of God is jumping out of the Bible, then I know I'm listening to what God is trying to say to me at that moment. I thought, wow, this is so powerful. I didn't know its meaning, but it is powerful. As usual, my spirit felt it before my mind.
'And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me. See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.' Book of Revelation 19:10. I was reading this verse and was blown away by the powerful revelation the last sentence gave. It is enormous. It is infinite. Not even Apostle John entered into the fullness of this.
Therefore, I spent some time meditating on the verse and asked the Holy Spirit to help me understand its meaning. After a few hours, the answer entered my office. A brother of church, Jim, came in and shared his testimony of how God miraculously restored his marriage. After the testimony, he said, bill, you can share my story to any other people who needed to hear this.
The Holy Spirit revealed to me what the verse implies with Jim's sharing. It felt like all the dots are joined together. And I understood that we can prophesy to people with others' testimonies, just like what Jim told me.
Prophecy is often referred as words that tell the future. But more importantly, prophesying is a word that can change the current surrounding. It is a powerful word, no matter how simple it sounds but due to the supernatural power in it, it is able to prepare the way and atmosphere for miracles to break forth. It works like a catalyst.
The two assumptions Jim made are first, since God did this great thing for me, He would also do it for others; second, the proclamation of a testimony is a medium to pass the promise to other needy persons.
