subject: Serve Up Tasty Recipes For Your Blog Readers [print this page]

Are you looking for a fast way to add appeal to your blog? Try adding recipes! It's an easy way to add content that people will "eat up". Everyone eats and most people cook, at least a little bit. But, how do you get recipes that you can use on your blog? There are numerous places to find recipes and I'll give you a few ideas in just a bit, but first let's discuss some legalities.

To keep from violating any copyright laws, you can not just take recipes out of cookbooks or magazines and type them into your blog. You'll absolutely want to be sure that any recipe you use does not contain the original directions word for word. Both recipe instructions and recipe collections may be copyright protected. Therefore, you have to use other options.

So, what are the other ways to find recipes that you can use?

Your Own Recipes

Do you have recipes that you cook at home? These might be recipes that have been passed down to you, that you've created on your own, or that you've adapted to your family's tastes.

If so, type them into your blog. They are yours to do with as you wish. Anything that you pull directly from your own head -- is free to use on your blog.

Aunts, Grandma & Friends

Does your mother have a special chili recipe that everyone loves? Ooh, and that spicy dip that your sister always brings to football parties.

Ask your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. to contribute their favorite recipes to your collection.

Find a Ghostwriter

The second way to get recipes for your blog is to hire a writer. You can usually find a ghostwriter who will create recipes for your blog. If you don't want to look for a ghostwriter, hit up the local culinary school and see if you can find a foodie who is looking to make some money on the side. Hire that person to type in his/her favorite recipes and you'll be set.

Private Label Rights (PLR) Recipes

The fourth (and my personal favorite) way to get recipes for your blog is to purchase PLR recipes. The great thing about PLR recipes is:

You aren't stuck coming up with all of the recipes yourself.

You don't have to pay someone else to write them for you.

You can change the recipes as much or as little as you'd like.

You can use and reuse the recipes as much as you'd like. You can even compile them into a downloadable cookbook that you can sell from your site.

You can get tons of recipes for cheap. Some PLR memberships sell them for less than $1 per recipe.

Every PLR service has its own rules, so check it out before buying.

A final tip: I recommend that you edit your PLR recipes so they are unique. Some ways to do this are:

Change the directions slightly.

Make the title sound more interesting.

Add a suggestion for the reader. Perhaps recommend a great wine (or beer) for the meal or a side dish.

Now you know how very easy it is to add a recipe section to your blog. I hope you'll consider getting started right away so you can attract hungry readers.
