subject: Tips For Making Network Marketing Success Happen [print this page]

Say the term network marketing and most people will think of spam or junk email they delete without even reading. For network marketing success businesses have to overcome this negative preconception. When people see Web sites or read email with overblown, simplistic promises of immediate wealth the information is not taken seriously.

Network marketing is also known as multi-level marketing or MLM. There are some tried and supposedly true concepts for successful MLM. However, the emerging belief of business people who have experienced success in this area, is that these old concepts may be tried, but they are not true. Network marketing is largely done with the Internet, which is a modern venue for marketing that requires modern methods for success.

There are several myths associated with network marketing. For example, it is counter productive to act as if everyone is a prospect. Today's marketing requires a more strategic approach. Treating everyone as a prospect and trying to sell or force a concept on every human you encounter, is a sure way to lose friends and not influence people. Regardless, it is pointless to recruit a downline that will not or can not produce good results because they were coerced into the business and have no real interest.

It is also a myth that anyone can do this. Being an entrepreneur can be an uphill battle. Some prefer a more predictable lifestyle. Some people are too shy or introverted, or simply hate the very idea of selling anything. Finding individuals with both the desire and the ability to market a product is key to your MLM success.

The real key word here is marketing. The purpose of marketing is to create a desire within the consumer to acquire your product or service. Your product may be absolutely superb, but if you fail to create a desire for the product no one will buy it.

Network marketing should not advertise claims that becoming a part of a downline and subsequently building your own downline takes hard work and dedication. To say the process is easy and that little or no work is involved translates that the marketing is a scam. These types of communications are quickly dismissed by intelligent people. Wild claims of instant wealth with little or no work will help you market your business.

While the Internet is an effective tool for marketing your business, it can also be an effective source of research for tips on how to market successfully. Sites such as Jon Ochs' Network Marketing Success Secrets are free and provide numerous resources.

Another site that will be useful for improving your marketing skills is The Entrepreneur. The sight warns business people not to view their MLM as a hobby. For network marketing success you will need to put in the time, the sweat and the imagination.
