Resell Rights vary from one individual product to the next -- various rights, terms, and conditions. In fact, if you acquire or download a package that contains several products, the rights may not be the same for all of them. And some products zipped into a resell rights package may not be for resale at all but are restricted to personal use only.
If you purchase a resale package which contains multiple products, the download will typically contain a resell license agreement for each one. Do not take anything for granted! Read every word of the resale license before you resell the product, and make a copy of that license in a safe place for future reference.
Some product licenses allow you to determine your own price or even give the product away for free. Others might specify that you cannot give it away and you cannot market the product for less than the original author's lowest price. In the case of physical products, such as CDs or DVDs, you may or may not be permitted to duplicate the product when you promote it.
Read your license in detail. Do you have master resale rights, simple resale rights, private label rights, or giveaway rights? Maybe all you have are rights for your own personal use.
There are usually other stipulations for reselling a product as well, other than the cost at which you may resell it. Case in point, most product authors have strict anti-spam policies, meaning that the product cannot be advertised by any method that may violate federal spam laws.
When it comes to your overall internet marketing plan, what does all this mean? It means you must read each and every resale rights, license carefully and understand what you can and cannot do with your downloaded products. If you are ever unsure about your resell rights, contact the author of the product before trying to sell it. You do not want to violate any provisions or conditions, as incorrect use can and will be considered a violation of copyright laws, which is a federal offense. Make certain that you aren't just asking another reseller - contact the author who originally created the product.
Make sure that you don't misplace your licenses. Print them out and keep them in a safe place. You should also back up electronic copies of your resale rights licenses on a disk. Include all email exchanges with the product author as well in your backup files including the emails that you send.
