subject: Paintball Minigun - Good, Bad, Or Just Plain Ugly? [print this page]

Paintball machine guns and gatling guns are a relatively recent phenomenon. They have not been around for very long, and most paintball manufacturers do not carry them in their product. Chances are, you have yet to see one in action. So many of you are probably wondering about whether they are worth the money. Well, There is no such thing as a cheap paintball gatling gun. In fact, I don't think there is a more expensive paintball product out there. But, they may just be the coolest thing you will ever experience.

The cost of a paintball machine gun is cause for concern, and many of us won't even consider them. But there are also a lot of reasons to try one out. Whether the pros of a paintball minigun override the high price tag, is up to you. Here's the list of pros

1 - Paintball gatling guns are manufacture with metal, and metal only. They are about as solid as it gets. And by far the most intimidating and stable paintball gun that you will ever see. They've only been around a few years, so I don't know about they're longevity. But I cannot see a reason why they couldn't last a lifetime.

2 - There is not a paintball gun out there that can compete with the amount of balls per second that are fired from a paintball machine gun. Even the best paintball marker in the world cannot compete with a paintball minigun's rate of fire.

3 - The pure intimidation alone, and cool factor is almost worth the investment. It's a freakin' machine gun. It does not get more rad than that!

Most of us will not be able to afford this gun. Which is too bad. Unfortunately we'll all have to hope like hell that we win the lottery so that we can make fun and frivolous purchase like a paintball gatling gun. I don't think there is a single paintballer out there who wouldn't want to take one of these bad boys for a test drive. If you haven't seen one of these guns in action, the next best thing you can do is take a look at them online. Even youtube has some cool videos. I have only seen a paintball machine gun once, but it was one of the most exciting experiences in my life. Unfortunately, the gatling gun belonged to a player on the opposing team, so I wasn't exactly benefiting from it. But, it was one of the most fun losing experiences I've ever had. My recommendation is to see whether a group of your friends want to share the cost of this device, and use it in your woodsball games. It's better to give the paintball minigun to the team that is less skilled. That way, you have a fun way to neutralize a teams dominance.
