subject: Pepper Spray Is Perfect Self Defense Protection If You Do Not Have A Gun [print this page]

The only way that some people feel like they can protect themselves wherever they go is to have a gun with them at all times, but for others, a gun might not be the solution for self protection for them. A mom with kids with her everywhere she goes might not be comfortable with a firearm at all. In some places like public parks, bars or restaurants, it might not be possible to have a gun with you even if you wanted to. This doesn't mean that the occasion might not arise where you had to protect yourself and a gun might not be possible.

One of the most popular alternatives to carrying a handgun these days is to have a container of pepper spray. Even police officers use pepper spray and it is very effective. The great thing about pepper spray is that you can use it to defend yourself and hold off an attacker without fear of actually killing someone. Spraying an attacker with pepper spray can incapacitate them for plenty enough time for you to get away.

Using a pepper spray container is easy. Purchasing a container that has a finger lock will ensure you never spray yourself. The finger lock positions the container so that it can only be aimed at your attacker and no where else. Once you have used your pepper spray container, you should replace the cartridge so you will be positive there will be plenty of spray inside the next time you might need to use it. Pepper spray containers are small enough to fit in your purse or pocket or they can be placed in your car where you can get to them very easily if you need it.

Pepper spray is a fantastic product to use for self defense, but some women have also used a shrill whistle or alarm to get the attention of other people that might be close by. A perfect combination is to have a pepper spray container that also has the shrill alarm just for this purpose. You can be defending yourself with the pepper spray and the alarm will be sounding at the very same moment. Getting the attention of others while you are being attacked will often scare off the attacker very quickly if he feels he is in danger of facing more than one person.

There really is nowhere anymore that is completely safe. You can be attacked in broad daylight in a parking lot filled with people, so it is not just a danger when you might be alone getting in or out of your car somewhere at night. If you know you have your pepper spray in hand or close at hand, you will feel a lot safer no matter where you are no matter the time of day or night.
