subject: Don't Fall For This Greyhound Handicapping System Scam [print this page]

Good greyhound handicapping advice is hard to find nowadays. Even on the Net, there are few if any people who write about greyhound handicapping. So where can you turn if you're trying to learn how to pick winning dogs?

Well, you could buy a system and use it to get better at finding the factors that indicate that a dog is ready to win. Or you could find someone at the track who will mentor you. This is an ideal solution if you can find someone who actually knows about greyhound handicapping and is willing to share it with you.

Perhaps you could split the costs of some bets while they teach you what to look for. Or you could have them go over a program that you've handicapped, so that they can show you where you're making mistakes. This is a very good way to learn the ropes.

One thing you shouldn't do is buy a system that promises to "automatically" handicap the races for you and pick winners. Even handicapping software hasn't gotten to the point where it can do that yet. Maybe someday it will, but right now, the best even software can do is predict what might happen, based on what's happened in the past.

This just doesn't work. Without some handicapping on your part, at least basic handicapping, no system is going to pick winners for you without effort. If there was a system that did this, believe me, whoever found it would keep it to themselves and not sell it. Think about it.

So, what you should you look for in a system? The most important thing is a system that fits you. If you like to take a long while to go over your program and enjoy handicapping, detail by detail, get a method that works with that approach. But, if you just want something that will help you sort quickly through all the factors in a dog race, a more streamlined method might be the one for you.

If you're really serious about making money, short and sweet isn't going to make it, of course. You'll need a much more involved system or maybe even more than one to help you hit the big payoffs. Remember, avoid the obvious scams and stick with methods that don't promise you instant riches. Rmember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
