subject: Kathy Griffin Tickets - Always Good For A Laugh [print this page]

Comedian Kathy Griffin isn't one to shy away from poking fun at others' expense. In fact, it's sort of her shtick. Most recently Griffin appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in a full spoof of the queen of daytime television Oprah Winfrey. In the parody, Griffin mocked Oprah's final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, wearing a strikingly similar outfit and even promising Kimmel's audience a surprise trip of their own (Oprah gave her entire studio audience an eight day vacation along with her to Australia).

Griffin announced, in her best overly enthusiastic impersonation of Oprah, "I have a little surprise for your audience, Jimmy Kimmel! This man has a gotten a bus, and we are going to West Covina!" No one is given a free pass from Kathy Griffin, even not the seemingly untouchable Oprah. See who will be Griffin's next target at one of her upcoming stand-up gigs. Kathy Griffin tickets can be found today at StubHub; reserve your seat today!

In other news, Kathy Griffin really made a splash on the red carpet at this year's Emmy Awards, bringing along her mom as her date and sparkling in a stunning silver gown that earned her praise from critical fashionistas in the blogosphere.

Hailing from Chicago, Ill., Kathy Griffin made the trek to Los Angeles to try her hand in the entertainment industry. She earned several television guest-starring roles in shows like Seinfeld and ER and ultimately won recognition for a skill that would be her ticket to the top: comedy. In the late 1990s she landed her own HBO Half Hour Comedy Special followed by the one-hour A Hot Cup of Talk. She is perhaps best known for her role in the hit comedy series Suddenly Susan, where she played Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' colleague at work.

In August 2005, Griffin started her next big television project, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which debuted on Bravo. The show actually follows the story of Griffin as she tries her best to climb up the Hollywood ladder and out of "D-List" territory, as she likes to say. Season 1 of the show was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program and it is now a popular series in Australia, the U.K. and Canada. Recently My Life on the D List concluded its sixth season on the air.

When it comes to her comedy routine, Griffin spares no expenses. She takes every opportunity to poke fun of celebrities as well as herself. Some of the topics that she has covered in the past include plastic surgery, drunkenness and eating disorders. It is perhaps often best to see Griffin at one of her many live routines. See when she is scheduled for her next tour and if she will be stopping by in a city near you. Keep in mind that no one is necessarily safe from a little parody courtesy of Kathy Griffin. Not even Oprah Winfrey! Check StubHub today for tickets and reserve seats for you and some friends.
