The best tap water I ever had was at my friend Dave's apartment.

Dave and I have worked in adjacent cubicles for the past three years

or so. He invited me over his place after work one day to watch the

playoffs and to have a "cold one." Of course, I just assumed that he

meant beer. But he actually meant a bottle of his tap water. You

see, he'd just installed an under-the-counter water filter for his

kitchen sink, and he was raving about how well it worked. He said his

old water used to taste like swallowing paper clips, but after the

filter was put in the water tasted softer, fresher and delicious. So

I tried some, and sure enough, it was great! We must have each had

three whole bottles of the stuff while watching the game that night.

He told me that his tap water had as many minerals as any bottle of

water, too, so I was actually getting healthier even though I was just

sitting on a couch watching football like always. That gave me an

idea: I told him to fill a bunch of water bottles with his tap water

and to give them out at work for Christmas. He said it was a good

idea--and he actually did it! In conclusion, Dave inspired me to get

an under-the-counter water filter of my own, which I'm going to do

later on this year. Truly, Dave is the best of friends, with the best

of tap water.
