subject: Nfl Tickets - Week 2 Power Rankings [print this page] Here are the Top 10 teams in the National Football League as I see them heading into Week 2 of the 2010 season:
1. New Orleans Saints: When the reigning Super Bowl champs win in a rematch of the NFC Championship Game, you have to respect that, especially when a number of other supposed powerhouse teams falter out of the gate. New Orleans didn't dismantle the Vikings by any means, but they outplayed them in pretty much every facet of the game. The Saints could again be the top team to get NFL tickets to see this season.
2. Green Bay Packers: They didn't look great on either side of the ball, but they got the job done against a Philly team that played well. Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the offense are going to have better days. The defense didn't seem ready for Vick, but I don't think anyone was.
3. Indianapolis Colts: One can't overact too much to a week one loss, even if a running back absolutely thrashed them. The Colts looked shaky against the run and in protecting Peyton Manning. If that continues, I'll drop them more, but they could easily bounce back.
4. New England Patriots: The Patriots offense looked explosive again, reminding us a bit of the 2007 team that set so many records. The defense is still suspect, as they let the Bengals make it look respectable by the end of the game, but it might not matter if the offense rolls.
5. Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens outplayed the Jets in pretty much every aspect of the game aside from running the ball. It wasn't a pretty win against Gang Green, but it was still a victory against a team that a lot of people think can go to the Super Bowl.
6. Houston Texans: Arian Foster did most of the work on offense, but we know what this passing game is capable of. If Foster is for real, this could be the best offense in the league. Their defense bent against the Colts but didn't break most of the time. This may be a bit high for Houston, but they've got the potential to stick around.
7. Dallas Cowboys: Dallas should have won on Sunday night, and probably would have had they taken a knee on the final play of the first half. They need to establish the run better, but Tony Romo and Miles Austin looked to be on the same page, which bodes well for the passing game.
8. Minnesota Vikings: Despite their opening night struggles, the Vikings nearly stole a win from New Orleans. Give Favre some more time to get used to not having Sidney Rice and they could be back on the rise in the rankings before we know it.
9. New York Giants: I think the Giants are a playoff team and they did nothing to make me question that against Carolina. Hakeem Nicks could be a star.
10. Tennessee Titans: If Chris Johnson can hold up this season and Vince Young can continue to play efficiently and protect the ball, this could be a playoff team. It's still early, though, and they were facing the Raiders.
