subject: How Your Story Will Increase Sales In Your Network Marketing Company [print this page] When I started my business with this network marketing company, I was $12,000 in credit card debt and in jeopardy of losing my home because I could no longer afford the mortgage on my wages. It is tough having to choose between buying food or paying bills. I joined this company because I saw average people like myself with no sales experience making $5000-$10,000 a month in their first 6 months. I saw people taking back control of their lives and creating their dreams. I knew if they could do it, so I could I. I refused to have to tell my daughter that we were homeless.
Now, in my fourth month with this network marketing company, I have made an additional $14,500 in income on a part-time basis. I am now caught up with my mortgage and have money set aside to pay it the next two months. I have worked out a payment plan with the credit card companies. Most importantly, I know that my daughter and I get to keep our home- I have not failed her. I am at total peace because I know that my income will only grow monthly as I grow my business. Soon I will be able to fire my boss, work this business full-time, and give my daughter the life that she deserves.
Facts tell, stories sell.
When you are speaking with prospects, you want to be able to tell the story, like the example above. Tell the story of the network marketing company, including your community members and sponsor, and tell your story. If you are still new to the business and do not have a story of your own, tell your sponsor's story or other people in your community. Just be honest and be real. Listen to your company and community's stories over and over again until you are able to tell it in your sleep. People often buy on emotion. You want to move them with the truth. As you are practiced in doing so, your sales will increase and you will develop your own story to share. Others will also share your story with their prospects.
When crafting your story, answer the following questions in a few short sentences:
1. Where were you when you started the business?
2. Why was this business the solution for you?
3. What have you accomplished thus far?
4. What direction is your life headed now?
Write it down. Know it and be confident when you deliver it. Be real. It should be no longer than 45 seconds- 60 seconds tops. You will revise your story over time as you continue to grow in the business, as you accomplish your goals, and as you live the life that you desire and deserve.
