subject: Lady Antebellum Tickets - Lady A Earns Cma Nominations [print this page] Each year, certain dates make every single country star's datebook. One such date is the Country Music Association Awards. The 44th Annual CMA Awards will take place on Nov. 10 and will be broadcast live for fans to see. Superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the 2010 CMA Awards, and it will mark their third consecutive year as hosts.
Up-and-comers Lady Antebellum raked in multiple nominations for the awards show, including in the coveted Entertainer of the Year category. In that field, they are up against Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band. They are also up for Vocal Group of the Year along with Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts, the Band Perry and the Zac Brown Band.
Lady A's single "Need You Now" is nominated in the Single of the Year category. They will have to beat out Easton Corbin ("A Little More Country Than That"), Blake Shelton ("Hillbilly Bone" featuring Trace Adkins) and Miranda Lambert ("The House That Built Me" and "White Liar"). The same song is nominated in the Song of the Year category, which is given to the songwriters.
Lady A members Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott were all songwriters on the single, along with Josh Kear. "Need You Now" raked in a third nomination for Music Video of the Year. Their album of the same name is nominated for Album of the Year, up against Carrie Underwood's Play On, Miranda Lambert's Revolution, George Strait's Twang and Dierks Bentley's Up on the Ridge.
Prior to being on hand for the CMA Awards, the members of Lady Antebellum took time out of their busy schedule to be part of the Second Annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser. The night featured top entertainment that will raise awareness and money for cancer research. It took place on Friday, Sept. 10 and was broadcast on many different networks. Along with Lady A, artists like Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Martina McBride, Natasha Bedingfield and many more were on hand. Other celebrities in attendance included George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Cindy Crawford, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Edwards and many more.
Many critics and fans are impressed with the work of Lady Antebellum, but Charles Kelley is probably a lot more concerned with what his brother, fellow musician Josh Kelley, thinks of his work. The older of the Kelley brothers (Josh) recently spoke to OK! and explained that the two have had a blast working together, which they have been able to do more recently. Josh said of his time working with Charles, "I wouldn't trade that for the world. It's priceless for me to be able to spend time with my brother."
Charles Kelley will have to work hard to find time to work on new material in the near future, because Lady Antebellum has many dates lined up for the fall. Lady Antebellum tickets are now available for their shows in cities like St. Louis, Louisville, Detroit, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta and many more.
