Stress is extremely common in today's high-pressured society, and is a contributory factor in depression. Here's the reason why. Adrenaline is the hormone secreted by the adrenal glands in response to stress. We need this hormone for the fight or flight' survival mechanism, which gives us a boost of energy to save ourselves from danger, but these days it is much more often secreted in response to unwelcome everyday anxiety from the stress of modern life. When it is present in our bodies in high levels over long periods of time, it damages our body systems.

Majority of us today is living with some sort of stress and we become so used to of it that we rarely realize this fact of suffering from stress. Today we are living in an era where we find our lives always on run, no time for proper meals, not even a time to relax or sit for few minutes in a quiet corner to relieve your nerves. Everyone seems busy in this hi-tech world. And all these contribute considerably to fell victim of stress.

Although, it seems almost impossible to cope with complexities and diversities of this hi-tech age, still there are ways to cope with this uninvited stress, which largely affects your abilities and habits in doing your daily chores. Following are given few points which if not much help you to control stress factors to some extent.

- There is no need to over stretch yourself. A realistic approach is important to keep you away from stress.

- Try to develop a proper habit of having your meals on time and with appropriate nutrients.

- Being an organized person, you can keep yourself away from stress, as you need not to worry about things.

- Regular exercise is helpful to control stress attacks, as aerobic exercises help you to burn stress hormones. Yoga can also be helpful to keep stress away.

- Meditation is another important factor that can keep the stress away from you. Different meditation techniques can be used that help you to keep your mind calm and cool. It is better to seek help from an expert before starting.

- Change your living habits. Try to be happy most of the time. Change those things that make you unhappy or put stress on you. Though, change is difficult, but go for it to have calm life.

- Proper breathing also helps to keep stress away. Most of the time we don't breathe properly, i.e. we use only top triangle of lungs as a result the oxygen provided to the brain is inadequate and eventually preventing is metabolizing unnecessary stress hormones.

- Sleeplessness is a major factor to boost the stress. Proper sleep is necessary and it keeps us healthy and fresh beginning of the day. Avoid taking tea, coffee or alcohol late at night so that you can sleep well.

- Sometimes, massage helps you to get rid of toxins along with stress hormones. So, go for it occasionally.

- Always spare time for yourself from your busy routine to enjoy life with your friends or family.

- Drink as much water as you can to remove toxins from your body.
