subject: 4th Of July Games & Activities- Keeping Everyone Busy And Entertained [print this page]

If you are hosting a celebration in the 4th of Jul, there are hours and hours to plan to make the party more fun. You want to have a lot of activities and games planned to keep everyone busy and entertained.

There are a variety of games that everyone will enjoy.

Balloon or Globe Pass- This game is to transmit a balloon to a line of people. Use balloons that are red, white and blue in color and tell participants that they will use their hands and legs to move the balloon down the line. Create two teams of people, and align them in a straight line. Give the first person a balloon and tell them to put it between his legs, passing the ball to the next person in line with the legs only. The game continues until the ball has gone all the way down the line.

Chalk it up - Choose a panel of judges (the oldest members of the family are obvious choices) and become one of the official judges of the competition. Break guests into two teams (or more depending on how many people are in the party) and give them each one or two containers of chalk. Tell them to create a picture that shows something interesting. Set a time limit (depending on your group, this period can vary from 10 minutes to 45 minutes) and then have the judges declare a winner. You can give art-themed prizes for the winners.

Parade - A fun activity that says "4th of July!" It's a parade with decorated bikes, scooters and other vehicles. Ask everyone who are present to decorate their bike or scooter or other item in patriotic attire. You may have flags, banners and ribbons.

Children and adults can decorate their bicycles and scooters as a party activity.

Guessing Game - This game is always popular for almost any occasion. Fill a large pot of mint candy (the kind of red and white stripes) and decorate it with blue and red ribbon. The person who comes closest in guessing wins the game.

Fireworks - If you're having fireworks at home, have a big box of fireworks of all kinds. Everyone has their favorites and people can have clear ideas of what to watch and hear. You can play a game to determine who will collect the fireworks. You may ask trivia questions of trivia or you can have a dance competition.

As the music plays in the background, every person who really wants to collect the fireworks should dance the craziest.

Someone who has been appointed as a judge will decide who won the dance competition.
