The modern world has a wide range of opportunities in careers, hobbies and interests to choose for everyone according to their taste and type of character. It is a fact that some people are born accountants because they are very disciplined and know how to work with figures; others are born businessmen as they know how to negotiate and find lucrative ideas in the most unpromising conditions. However, in case all these skills may still be acquired in the learning process, creative careers cannot be chosen without any grounds. People have to be artistic and creative personalities, they have to sense the art and be able to invent something new. It is true that a creative career can be very profitable and rewarding, as respectable painters and sculptors, writers and musicians earn great sums of money and can afford living in luxury. Nonetheless, there also are millions of other artists who die unknown and have no opportunities in their lives. Hence, one should seriously consider both advantages and disadvantages of a creative career before engaging in it seriously. Pros and Cons of Being an Artist. 1. The first issue to consider before choosing a creative career is whether it is the true vocation of the individual. There are many opportunities for pursuing one's hobby in free time being employed in another place full-time. In case the person is not highly dedicated to the art, it is not worth devoting the whole life to something that may bother in a while. 2. Financial stability and prestige should also not be the key factors for choosing a creative career. The reason for this is that only a few may become really rich and famous, while others change their careers when they understand their inability to create something brand new. There are crises of creativity, or simply having good but average skills may ruin one's life.
