The Great Depression was the last time numbers were so high for unemployment in many countries, not just the US. The economic crisis is fueled by unemployment because people without a paycheck do not shop for what they need, let alone what they want. One of the major problems is that the people who are experienced and ready for a particular job don't know where to find that job. The other part of the problem is the people with the jobs don't know where to find these skilled workers. Personnel management consultants will help both the unemployed and the employer.

The perfect employee is out there somewhere and it is the job of the consulting management firm to find them and match them up with the employer with the vacancy on their staff. The consultants will narrow down the qualified candidates and give the list to the potential employer saving them a lot of time going through hundreds of applications and resumes for one job opening. The consultant will offer the employer a small list of good candidates that have gone through a qualifications process for that particular job and it will be up to the employer to choose which one is the best.

Everyone who submits their application and resume through a management consulting firm will be pre-qualified for employers. As a prospective employee, an individual should be prepared to take some tests and answer several questions before ever meeting with the employer. Tests might include but are not limited to computer skills and knowledge; written and oral communication skills; phone work; typing/keyboarding; 10-key calculator and tests for anything that is detailed to the position one is applying for.

A company like this would be able to use their recruiting skills to help draw in the right applicant for a position. A management consulting firm will know where the best places to put an advertisement for help wanted will be. Many will have their own location on their website that thousands of people without a job frequent daily. This type of consulting firm will also know people at unemployment offices and job banks so that they will be able to trade information and give each other the heads up if they know of a good candidate for a position.

Matching an unemployed worker with the perfect job is very rewarding and satisfying to a consultant in a management firm. By helping them with their resume and testing those for what they are good at, a consultant might be able to come up with the perfect job for just about everyone. There are many different types of test available, some that cost the job hunter and others are free, in order to determine what a good job match would be for this person. Unfortunately, in this economy, it would be difficult to turn down a good job just because one doesn't like to do something. When a person is doing what they love and are happy about it, then their life is a lot better, but not everyone's life works out that way.

Before a job hunter signs up with a consulting management firm, they need to know if there is an exclusive clause in the contract. This means that the job hunter can not go to any other job firm or consulting group for employment help, even if they have the prefect job listed. Most of the help for the job hunter is free. The costs are billed to the prospective employers. There could be a charge to the job hunter for some of the testing but most of that will be free.

Personnel management consultants offer solutions for employers and jobseekers alike. The person looking for a job will be given a personal consultant who will work with them throughout the process of finding them a job. They may work with other consultants within the office who might be more up-to-date on a job in the database but for the most part, the one consultant will help the individual from beginning to the end, which would be gainfully employed.
