subject: Best Ball Handling Drills, part 4 [print this page] If you are new here, check out the previous articles I wrote the past few days where I outline a superb five day program to improve your ball handling skills. I would love to hear about your experiences with the program I have laid out, as I want to see if this program works as well for you as it did for me. I hope these drills work really well for you, as they have for me. If you want to continue to improve your ball handling, check out my review of the best program I have found to quickly improve your ball handling ability. My experience is with theEffective Ball Handling Program and it certainly helped me become the player I am today. Now, good luck on day four!
Day 4
20 Minutes:
If you can, find two people who are willing to guard you for 20 minutes. Have them both guard you while you try and drive past them to score. This will force you to learn how to cut around defenders and keep control of the ball under pressure. If you cannot find two people, choose two of your favorite drills from one of the earlier days and do each of those for 10 minutes. 10 Minutes:
Choose a hand and power dribble (push hard on the ball on the way down) for 10 seconds, then soft dribble for 5 seconds. Do this for 5 minutes with one hand, then 5 minutes with the other. This drill will help your arm muscles become used to the various dribbling speeds that will occur in game situations.
Remember, the more time you spend working on the other aspects of your game, the faster you will improve. With your newly improved ball handling skills, try shooting off the dribble or running a fast break down the court. Try to integrate your new skills into your game as much as you can so that it feels natural.
