subject: Lockers For Storing Your Luggage [print this page]

It can be very difficult to keep up with everything that you need to take with you while traveling. Though some of use might travel light, others might not have an option because they might have to take heavier equipment of more items for different destinations that they will be visiting. This is when luggage lockers come in handy. You can leave luggage that you dont need to take with you in a personal licker with a combination to keep your items safe and secure. Luggage lockers can be found at airports, train stations, hotels, and other areas of high traffic.

Some places that you go to that have luggage lockers dont even have the combination locks, but instead have upgraded to touch screen technology where you can punch in your information and special password to retrieve your items. Somewhere youd be able to find the touch screen technology lockers is in Europe.

There are two main buttons on the panel and the first one is the button that you would press to hire the locker and the second one would be a button that you can press to enter into your locker. There are all sorts of different lockers available where ever you might travel. There are lockers that are different sizes as well. Some lockers have two halves to fit luggage on the top and then some luggage on the bottom. For smaller items there are lockers that are split into eighths, fourths, and then thirds, to suit whatever size items that you might have in your possession. In some places there are even special lockers that are available for you to store bikes inside of.

The downside about the whole locker system is that it has been banned since 9/11 because airports feared that terrorists could use these lockers to store weapons. Whos to say when this form of storage will ever return, but there is currently a new technology that is being created for the locker systems and it is currently being tested so that people will be able to safely use these lockers again without the worry of any threats happening.

Not all airports have banned their locker systems so you can still go certain places and find that they are available, but until the new finger print technology has been approved for some places, they will remain without the useful system.
