Alopecia basically is a medical term for people who have hair loss in their body, especially in their head that can be later lead to baldness. However, alopecia can be brought about by a number of causes.

There are several factors that can constitute in alopecia. Among women, loss of hair can be associated by taking oral contraceptives and the lack of iron in the diet especially over a long period of time.

Moreover, there are different types of alopecia a person suffering from disease can get. The most common type of Alopecia is Alopecia areata. This type of alopecia occurred in only one part of the body, typically starting from the scalp. I appear to be a small spot baldness on the head of the affected person.

Also, this kind of alopecia is not infectious bit this is hereditary. In addition, there is a doubt that severe anxiety and stress are the main factors in this illness, although it is not yet proven.

Another type of alopecia is Alopecia diffusa. It is characterized by thinning hair and is brought about by interrupting the cycle of follicular anagen or telogen phase. With this type of alopecia, only the scalps are influenced.

These are some of the types of alopecia that a patient might experienced.

The hair loss brought about by heredity is not curable, but it can be controlled. It is a matter of how will a certain person infected with the disease be handling this matter accordingly. There is always a consideration on how a person can get along with this disease. Proper and appropriate interventions on alopecia are needed to alleviate its effects.

Furthermore, proper education and knowledge about the disease is needed to be known for everybody to prevent alopecia from occurring. If a person already has alopecia, that person must know all the required interventions to maintain and prolong the quality of life.
