Have you ever been out and seen someone with a ridiculous amount of energy? Or maybe you have a friend who can work two jobs, go out at night, and be fine the next morning. Some questions may be triggering in your mind. Questions like: Where did they get that energy? Or how can they be so vibrant all the time.

The answer is not genetic. These people do something either unconsciously or consciously that contributes greatly to the amount of energy they show. They have habits and thought patterns that make them fit to handle whatever comes their way. Let's start with the mind.

Build a Pro-Active Mindset

You would be surprised how much you could relieve stress and gain energy just by tweaking your mind a little. Many people have a list of things to do and wait till the last minute to do it. Their brains are clouded with unimportant information and everything that is important and should be done first gets put dead last.

Instead of letting this happen, just simply do the important things first. As Dr. Stephen Covey says in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People you must put first things first.

Why does this give you energy? The simple answer is because it makes you feel more accomplished and clears your brain of constantly saying "I have to do this, I have to do this". Once you don't have these little addictive thoughts going on in your head you will not feel so exhausted.

Change Your Diet

When you eat a meal do you feel tired? You are not alone and in fact most people feel this way. The feeling is caused by one of two things: eating too much or eating starchy foods. Did you know that when you eat a lot of food your body has to use energy to digest it? If you think that energy is not taking away from the outer energy that you show you are mistaken.

Just to clarify I am not saying eating is bad and that you should starve yourself. The solution is to eat lighter meals with less starch. When you are eating don't go overboard and keep throwing food down. You will notice that when you only eat what your body NEEDS that you will have a lot more energy. Your insides will not be working overtime to digest all the junk you keep throwing down.

Live Now Be Present

This goes right back to the first thing on the list. You should not be constantly avoiding the present moment. What do I mean? Well when you are always thinking about what needs to be done or what happened yesterday you're not being faithful to the present moment. Can you imagine how draining this can be on your energy? It absolutely slaughters your mind energy (which creates your body energy). Basically it is not a very healthy way to live.

Eckhart Tolle, who is the author of The Power of Now has a saying. It is "Life is now. There was never a time when your life was not now, nor will there ever be". Isn't that true? So many people are clouded by their past thoughts and future projects that they simply cannot even feel the moment they are in now. It is very sad.

Improve Your Balance

Balance is one of those things that is always going on. Your mind is trying to keep you balanced on an unconscious level almost every time you walk. By unconscious I mean it is something that you are not thinking about sort of like breathing. Your brain and body just keep you balanced and you go on about your life. But what happens if your balance is out of whack? Well the simple fact is that this takes up energy.

So, what can help this balance? I recommend the simple technology found in balance wristbands. The technology seems to work for nearly everyone and frees up mass amounts of energy. Of course if your balance problem is serious than I would give the doc a call.

Calm Your Mind before You Sleep

Many of us try to find ways around sleep by taking energy drinks. This makes us focused for a short period but then gives us a crash. The only problem with this is it sends our mind into a spiral of thought before we sleep. Basically, most of us aren't getting restful sleep.

The trick is to calm your mind before you sleep. Don't think about too much just try and relax. Don't watch TV or listen to loud music. When you lay down take deep breaths and just relax.

I hope these steps help you in achieving more energy both in the short and long term. Start putting these into practice today!
