subject: Stop Smoking Are You Ready? [print this page]

Studies show that 90% of the people wish to quit from smoking after knowing the bad effects of it but studies also show that 90% of those people failed to do so. The reasons are mainly because they have low determination and mostly are not well motivated by their friends especially those who smoke as well. So, here are some tips to stop smoking which are proven workable and helpful.

First of all, mindset plays an important role here to help you in achieving your mission. When you have decided to quit, just go for it! You can write the words I want to stop smoking on a piece of paper and stick it on your bedrooms wall. You can even put that sign at your office or in the car. Dont feel shy to let people know that you are going to quit as I am pretty sure people who really care about you will definitely support you all the way until your successful day.

The next tip is to plan for a schedule so that you will have a targeted date to stop smoking. You dont have to force yourself to quit in just a week. Make a realistic schedule so that you will be able to make it. Start your planning by smoking lesser in a day; you can even arrange your schedule to smoke only at certain time. Make it small enough so that you can carry it around in your wallet.

Most of the people love to smoke when they are too tired or too stress. So, plan for your daily outdoor activities from day one onwards. Go for sports such as badmintons, swimming or football in the evening after work. This is better than spending time doing nothing but smoking.

Other than that, carry along some sweets with mint flavor or chewing gums wherever you go. Whenever you feel like smoking, grab the sweets instead of a cigarette. Try not to bring along your lights or cigarettes when you are out. It may help to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked per day.

In conclusion, these are all the tips which can help you to quit smoking. However, it very much depends on your self determination and courage to be successful. Remember, nothing is impossible!
