subject: More For Your Buck In Bucks County [print this page]

As a New Jersey resident I like to drive to Lambertville, park my car there, wander around visiting a few shops and bookstores and then cross the bridge over the Delaware River into Bucks County.

You are immediately in New Hope where more shops and restaurants await you.

Wandering around New Hope is fun, especially if you are looking to kill some time while your carpets are being cleaned back home. When the shopping and sightseeing begin to tire you take a relaxing barge ride on the canal. You will learn that the canal was an important part of commerce in colonial America.

Wandering around Bucks County while waiting for your carpets to be cleaned by bucks county carpet cleaners will have you thinking, "I think I would like to live here." You would not be alone in that thought. Many famous people have taken up residence in Bucks County including Oscar Hammerstein and Pearl Buck. Pearl Buck's home is now open to visitors.

Doylestown, the county seat of Bucks County, is another interesting city to visit. This charming old town has many interesting shops and museums. M. F. K. Fischer, the famous food writer, once wrote of enjoying oyster stew on a cold wet winter day at the Doylestown Inn.

Speaking of visitors, New Hope can be really crowded on a pleasant day. Not only with New Jerseyans crossing the bridge over the Delaware but by many from Philadelphia which is just a short drive away. Perhaps they too are visiting while they are having Philadelphia carpet cleaning done in their homes.

After a long day in Bucks County we are ready to return to Lambertville and have dinner at the Station Restaurant.

After which we hope to find our car and return home to our newly cleaned carpet, courtesy of bucks county carpet cleaners .
