subject: Hip Replacement Ain't Hip For Daddy [print this page] Oh Mamma! Where'd you get those hips? Whisper with your lips. Was it from one of those bad trips, those trips to Doctor Snips?
Replacing your body parts ain't cool, brothers and sisters, it's just plain cold. Are we not children of nature? Would yet the establishment treat us as if we were produced in a factory like mindless lifeless machines?
Know yourself, own yourself, you are your only authority of importance. Let no one tell you otherwise, be they degreed or what have you. Mostly at best what they have learned is the senseless ignorant words of fools, and at worse, how to service the vice of greed in a business that is heartlessly self-serving.
If you are out of touch, which is what corporate commercial society fosters, then you will be taken advantage of. This is an invitation to join the counterculture of awareness, when everyone else is manipulated to think it is fashionable to go along with the hypnotized crowd who get herded like cattle to slaughter.
Before you go under the knife, consider the effect it will have on your life. Hip replacement is not a routine procedure, even though more and more people are getting it at younger and younger ages. It is not a quick fix, it will not give you bionic powers, it does not come with a lifetime warranty, and it is not without major risk.
With surgery there is always the specter of complications including surgery failure, infection, and death. But the one sure thing is that you are going to have plenty of pain and months of rehabilitation. Even after that, you may not be in as good a shape as before the operation, but chances are that you will be worse. If the first choice you choose for any problem is to have yourself cut up, well, that is insanity. Think about it. Make love not war.
So, for your consideration, the crazy notion -- and many consider it a crazy notion to take their health into their own hands -- is to start rehabilitation now, while you still have some mobility and still have your original hips. Not artificial hips that will wear out no matter what, but organic hips made of live living cells that will respond to your loving massaging thoughts and nurturing actions. This goes for any joint, like the knee, or any part of your body. Make peace with your pieces rather than alienate your anatomy. If you have headaches you do not have your head cut off and replaced with a new one do you? Why can't we all just get along?
The first thing to do is stop the abuse of misuse. Exercise strengthens body tissue, reconnects it with life enhancing circulation, and breaks up the stress of stiff tension. Stretching and flexing in full range of motion is a daily requirement for our joints to get them and keep them healthy. What happens when we do is our cartilage performs the pulling in and out of synovial fluid. Our cartilage is like a sponge absorbing synovial fluid and then squeezing out the fluid. With this action, our cartilage gets bathed with nutrients and waste gets washed out. That's why it is so liberating to move to the groove. Shakira's hips don't lie! Join the movement.
Fail to exercise and your cartilage dries up and your movements, what little you do of them, are no longer fluid and may even be painful from inflammation. That is an alarm which is sounding for you to exercise regularly and bring your firefighters into action, pumping up the hoses to douse the flames of decay so rebuilding can take place.
The opposite of this would be to shoot cortisone into it. "The Man" may come down on you with a high power steroid called cortisone. Cortisone is a cartilage killer and if taken for a lengthy time... you will have no other party-pooping option than to have your joint replaced.
To get yourself back to a state of whole being, you will need high quality material to support your rebuilding. Replace an unhealthy diet with good wholesome food. Adulterated food is not gnarly dude. It has good stuff taken out and bad stuff put in. White bread as an example has the wheat germ and fiber removed and like many of today's processed foods has high fructose corn syrup added to make it sweet, but most likely has any number of other chemicals and preservatives in it as well. Artificially treated food lasts longer, but your body treated to these does not.
What happens when you eat food like that is that rather than nourishing your joints, nutrients get robbed from your joints and your health goes into a downward spiral, which is exactly what many people are experiencing.
Reverse the process. Learn things you can do to get back to a healthy lifestyle of eating and exercise. Take classes, read books, search self-help health affirming articles on the Internet, take an interest in taking back control of this wonderful gift that is your body. It's your baby, love it and it will respond in kind.
