One of the problems of living in a small or poorly designed space is lack of storage. Have you ever found your belongings have started spilling out into your living space and you do not have any place to put them? If you do in such a situation, you really need to give your closets a makeover. Hey, it is not your fault. With any luck, some planning and a few changes will help you finally get organized.

Step 1, take all the clothes out of your closet and do a thoroughly cleaning. It may take you a while to take all the things out of the closet. Since you have done that, you can do the cleaning. Seriously, when was the last time you did it? With all-purpose cleaner, you should sweep the floor, wipe the walls down and sweep away the cobwebs.

Step 2, maximize space utilization. When organizing a closet, it is a point of honor to store each classification of accessories effectively and efficiently. Each group of accessories should be handled independently so that they could be stored in the least amount of space. You need to find a method of storage for your shoes, sweaters, belts, neckties, handbags, and jewelry that is compatible and efficient for all accessories.

Step 3, divide the space. Dividing shelf space into smaller, more manageable sections works well for storage. The devices that would be of great help are shelf dividers. There is a great variety of rich styles, shapes, and sizes of shelf dividers on the market to your taste and budget. Make sure, no matter what kind of storage system, you should make a point of choosing only those storage methods that are easy to use no matter the product or hardware is simple or not. This means that the method of storage should be appropriate for the items. If the method does not coincide with your own routine usage, no matter how well-intentioned or disciplined you may be, your closet will soon be in disorder and disarray again.

Step 4; put the accessories in the place you have decided. After deciding where your clothes will be put inside your closet, you should consider what to do with the smaller sections of space that will hold your accessories. These smaller areas are the shelves, the floor, the side walls, and the wall space above and each side of the closet door. Put belts, shoes, jewelry in appropriate area. Shoes are the main contender for most of this remaining space. The good news is the methods for storing shoes can be flexible, compact, and innovative.

Step 5, put you clothes in the closet. When putting your clothes back in your closet, you should organize all your in-season and out season clothing. First you might organize your clothes. Put all your clothes together, and separate work clothes from casual clothes, and from special fancy going-out clothes. Put clothes on wooden hangers which will allow your clothes to remain wrinkle-free in your closet. Yet make sure they are not over crowded.
