Several notable guest appearances have been made including Stan Lee (Marvel Comics), Summer Glau (Firefly), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek), Danica McKeller (The Wonder Years, Math Doesn't Suck), Carl Sagan (Cosmos) and Mayim Bialik (Blossom). In Season four, it has been reported that Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) and reappearance by Mayim Bialik are in store. With the show obtaining larger and bigger each season, one can only wonder what surprises we're in for. Oh, and about Carl Sagan... Bazinga!
Ok, now back to my point about the show's increasing popularity. The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom about 4 nerds dealing with all of the drama and frustrations that exists in their academic and social life. What is it that draws people to this show? And what drama exists in the word of academic physics anyway? A character like Sheldon certain does provoke most of the drama. Highlights consist of his fight with Leonard in 'Physicists Gone Wild' and his constant require to weaken other's study and education (i.e Leonard's Experimental Physics research and Howard's MIT Masters Degree). He even manages to cause drama to himself in 'Physicist Melts Down' where he, although drunk, takes off his pants and informs the audience to "get ready to see the dark side with the moon - and here's Uranus!" Even though stubborn, anal retentive and an arrogant individual, he still manages to be likable. Jim Parson definitely deserved the Emmy win for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper.
Actually, all of the characters within the Big Bang Theory are likeable despite their idiosyncrasies and eccentricities. Howard is a bit of a creepy pervert, but we appreciate his humor. Raj is a strange and odd foreigner who we just believe is adorable. Leonard is most likely not as eccentric as the others and many can relate to his sensitivity. Penny may initially come off as another replaceable blonde, but it is her understanding of the guys that makes her a treasure. In addition to the likable casts, there is the brilliant script that makes several of the geeky and nerdy references seem cooler towards the mainstream and not so niche (although many of those who were once in that niche might argue if this is truly a great factor).
One last thing, did you know the co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak is schedule to appear this season four?
