subject: Corky Romano – Chris Kattan [print this page] I have a very special place in my heart for Chris Kattan as he was brilliant on SNL and adorable on his other endeavors (A Night at the Roxbury, The Middle). This is why I will always be biased when watching any movie/tv show with Chris Kattan. The guy is funny!
Same applies for Corky Romano. In this 2001 comedy, Chris plays Corky Romano, the "good" son of a mobster. Corky is more interested in his career as veterinarian, but the family sucks him back in to have him pose as an FBI agent and steal evidence that incriminate the father.
This is the baseline for a veryslapstick movie. Some scenes are funny, others very funny, and most are predictable. Not many disgusting or low-level moments so overall you are either entertained or actually laughing. Chris Kattan holds the movie very well, and seems to use every possible muscle and facial expression he can think of.
The supporting cast is adroable, and it is especiallynice to see Peter Falk playing "Pops" Romano. No matter the role, seeing Peter Falk always warms my heart. I wonder if it's because of Princes Bride.
Bottom line, if you are looking forsome goofy yet decent comedy to watch, Corky Romano will deliver. I gave it 3 stars ("I LIKE IT") on Netflix.
