The first few pages of this were breathtaking. From some of my clients who have used this book to overcome addiction, I've heard nothing but great things. Addiction is a cunning, baffling and powerful disease that destroys the lifes of families, intiimate relatiohships, carreers, etc.
I used to be from the school of thought ath one could only overcome addiction through selfhelp groups, and 12 step meetings. The fact is, 12 step meetings are just not for everyone. Not everyone does well in a group therapy like setting and 1000000's of people have recovered from reading and following addiction free forever.
It is well written and the main reason that I trust this is because it is written from the prospective of an ex addict. It really gives the reader the understanding that he cares and empowers the person addicted to truly stop once and for all.
I was very naoor minded when I first started working in this field. I thought that the only way one could free themselves from being an addict is through countless hours of therapy and psychoeducational groups, followed by years of 12 step meetings. I mean, really, most of these things seem like a scam. If you take the time to read this book and TRULY apply it to your life, you WILL be free of addiction.
