subject: You Can Install Kitchen Cabinets With My Help [print this page]

The savings are there for you to grab, but first you need the help to get your kitchen installation underway.

In this article, I will share with you a couple of the first steps that you need to take to begin your installation.

Now, the first order of business is to go over your new design and become very familiar with how your new kitchen is going to look. Yes, this might sound like a step that seems trivial and one you can just forget about, but do not make that mistake.

So why do you need to become familiar with the new design of your kitchen? Believe me, by being able to visualize how you new kitchen is going to look when you finish the job is going to give you the confidence in yourself that you can do this. Having a mental picture in your mind as well as the drawings that you have been given by your designer goes a long way towards a successful installation.

So, draw the new design out on the walls of your new kitchen, both wall cabinets and base cabinets. Any problem areas that might crop up here are the direct result of your proper planning ahead of time. You will find out if you need to relocate any wiring or plumbing pipes during this process. Just be sure that everything is where it needs to be before you begin with the installation.

Another step that should be taken care of before you begin with the install is to have the new flooring installed first. This will make it easier on your floor technician as well as you. Just be sure to protect the new floor when you are working in the kitchen. However, if you have chosen a flooring such as a floating floor or perimeter glued vinyl, you will want to wait until the cabinets are in. These type of floors need to be able to move freely without the weight of cabinetry on them.
