subject: How To Design The Most Effective Flyer [print this page]

Printing flyers can be of great use for several different occasions. However, your flyer is not going to help you in the least if people don't notice it and decide to stop and read it. Here you will find the most important things you must do to ensure the success of your printed flyer campaign. Follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to producing and distributing beautiful flyers that attract positive attention for your cause.

In order for your flyer to be effective it must:

1) Attract Attention Right Away

Have a prominent photo, slogan or logo that will grab a reader's attention quickly. If you cannot overcome this hurdle, you may as well not even make flyers in the first place. It is so important to make this initial connection with your audience right away. Once you have successfully grabbed a reader, you have already won half of the advertising battle. In order to do this quickly, you want to choose between a few different options as far as text, size and color are concerned. Obviously your design needs to fit with what you are advertising, but also keep a few things in mind. You want to use a larger size font and perhaps bold or underline this first attention-seeking portion of your flyer. Use bright colors or photos to further entice readers.

2) Inform!

Now that you have their attention, tell them something great. Explain the main objective of your flyer in one or two quick sentences. This is where you have the ability to make your main point, and where readers can decide if they want to keep reading your flyer or not. They should be able to see the flyer, read a few sentences and then decide if they care about your flyer or not. Don't tell your whole story at once. If the reader feels confused or overwhelmed, they are going to disregard your flyer altogether. In terms of the design portion of this part of the flyer: it should be bigger than the rest of your text to come. Think of it almost as though it is included in the initial statement or logo. You are still trying to get attention at this point, so keep it short and sweet so people can make their decision whether or not they want to keep reading.

3) Give Them More

Now that you have successfully reeled your audience in, you can give them more information. If they are still reading, chances are the will want it. This is where you can feel free to delve more into what you are really offering or promoting through your printed flyers. While you want to give your audience more information and hopefully finalize the sale with them, keep in mind that you are working with a flyer, not a catalog. Give them just enough information to feel as though they are making an informed decision. This is where you also need to include all of your contact numbers or email addresses. Make yourself easily accessible. So they have seen the flyer, they read through it, and now they are interested in your offer. Now what? Tell them what to do next. Explain your preferred method of communication in order to place an order, sign up for an event, etc. Whatever the case may be, don't leave your potential customers wondering.

Printed flyers from Simpleprint are a wonderful resource for a variety of different reasons. They are versatile and economical. If you design them right, they can be a great advertisement for your business and bring more customers to you. Get busy and begin designing your professional flyers today!
