subject: Alumni Associations: The Butler University Alumni Association [print this page]

Alumni associations are powerful and useful unions which help graduates to stay in touch with their fellows and alma mater. These associations have approximately the same outline. However, there are different peculiarities. For instance, The Butler University Alumni Association (BUAA) connects not only graduates but their parents as well. In fact, this organization pays a lot of attention to their alumni and students parents and tries to involve parents in the student life of their children. What other peculiarities does this association have? What makes it so different?

Peculiarities of BUAA

Not many alumni associations can be characterized by the absence of the membership fees. Well, BUAA is one of those few. To become a member of this association you only need to be a student of this university and earn more than 30 credits.

Of course, BUAA helps their graduates with career development and communication issues. However, in this association there are subdivisions which are concerned with specific issues of alumni pertaining to sexual minorities and subdivision which is preoccupied with issues of African-American graduates.

Benefits of BUAA membership

Apart from communication among alumni BUAA offers:

1.Participation in the events sponsored by Butler's Alumni Association.

2.Discounts in some insurance companies. Of course, you need to check what companies are Butlers partners.

3.Membership card (which will cost you $5). It will give you even more great opportunities.

4.Butlers library privileges if you have the membership card, of course.

5.Besides, you will be able to have discounts in some hotels, Butlers partners.

Of course, this list is far from being complete. So, if you are a student of the Butler University, you are lucky to become a member of a great and helpful organization. Appreciate this!
