Vibration watches are timepieces, which were developed with an aim to assist the hearing impaired to keep to time schedules and to act as their reminders. As the name suggests, vibration watches actually vibrate more like in the way mobile phones do and hence the bearer of the watch is duly reminded of some event he/she is supposed to undertake. The success of such watches with the hearing impaired persons also gave leeway for these watches to be used for medical reasons.

A person under strict medication, which requires the medicine to be taken at the exact prescribed times of the day, will actually be well off with this sort of a reminder. Vibration watches are a good choice of reminder because of the discrete alerts they produce. The person under medication is therefore more comfortable as he or she will not draw any unnecessary attention when the time for medicine intake arrives.

Vibration watches are not meant for these two groups of people only. As with the mobile phones, not everybody is amused by ring tones and thus many opt for silent alerts in the form of vibrations. A very busy person can comfortably be reminded of this or that task without having to use beep alarms, which may actually distract workmates or other persons that he/she is together with in a meeting.

The vibration watches are also very useful for a spouse who is used to waking up at odd hours of the night but who would also not want to disrupt his or her partner's sleep. Vibration watches are also useful for people who work in or are constantly exposed to a noisy environment. Mines, engineering firms, and bus or railway terminals are perfect examples of such noisy areas. The vibration produced by the watch on your wrist is like no other alert and thus you can keep time very easily. Another application of the vibration watches is during hunting sessions; now you would not want to cause the prey to bolt away after having it on target just because of the beeping from your watch, would you?

Vibration watches, especially those for the persons under medication, usually have 5 to 6 presets. With these presets you can allocate several alarms according to the different times of the day when you need to take your medicine. This is great way of assuring yourself that you have taken your medicine at all the different allocated times of the day.
