The Dirty cooking apron School is a joint venture between Karri & Nico Schuermans (the masterminds behind Chambar) and former Chambar Sous-Chef David Robertson. Whether you are looking to improve your cooking skills, explore new cuisines, a fun team building exercise or something fun to do with your partner or friends, The Dirty cooking apron manufacturer School offers a wide range of classes in a fun, relaxed environment.

I had been wanting to join in on a class for a while now, and finally booked one in this week. On the menu for my "Ooh La La French Class" was an appetizer of Cripsy Seared Duck Breast with Potato Blini and Morel Jus, a main of Panko and Lime Crusted Tuna on a warm "Nicoise style" Salad, and a dessert of Apple Cinnamon Tarte Tatin. If you just read that sentence and thought there is no way that you would ever be able to cook something like that never fear! The chefs at The Dirty cooking apron School will have you cooking up a storm in no time.

Our chef of the evening Takashi Mizukami demonstrated how to cook each dish before sending us away to take on the kitchen ourselves. Takashi graduated from Vancouver's Drubrelle Culinary Art Institute top of his class before going on to sharpen his knives in some of Vancouver's busiest hotels and restaurants. Both Takashi and his assistant were always on hand for those little kitchen emergencies: "oh no, I broke my peeler" or "oh no, I burnt my duck breast", all of which came from my mouth. Without batting an eyelid they turned my so-called "emergency" into a little hiccup and we moved right along.

Once you have plated up your culinary creations you head on into the beautiful dining room to eat with the other people in your class. This gives you a chance to admire your handiwork, eye off everyone else's plates and meet new people over a glass of wine and great food that you have prepared yourself. After you finish one course, it's back into the kitchen for your next lesson and then time to take on the hot plates again. At the end of the class you get to take home the recipes for your dishes so you can impress your friends at home.

The Dirty cooking apron manufacturer School offers a range of classes from French, Italian, Contemporary West Coast, Cocktails & Canapes to Butchery Classes, Couples Classes and Knife Skills. They also offer a Gourmet Boot Camp and Kids & Teens Classes. The classes are open to anyone singles, couples, friends, corporate groups, special occasions, and all levels of cooks from the "I know nothing" to the professional to learn, explore and unleash their inner chef.

You can book classes directly through the Dirty cooking apron's website, or feel free to give them a call. You can search classes by date, type, chef, or style. The hands-on classes run for approximately 4 hours, and the boot camp style classes usually run for about 6 hours.

Oh, and the best thing about the Dirty cooking apron? They take care of the dishes!
