Airplanes are always looking for ways to save us money on our flights, and the newest idea is an interesting concept. A plane seat inspired by saddles is being unveiled across America this week, with plans to be rolled out across the UK if they go down well with customers.

Nicknamed the sky rider, the new designed seat is an idea from scientists to boost the number of seats that can be fit onto a plane and therefore reducing the costs by being able to cram more travellers onto an aircraft.

The seats have been described as not compromising on comfort, and provide a mere twenty three inches of leg room, which is a massive seven inches less than a normal low cost airline.

The designers have likened the seat to that of a horse's saddle, and apparently you can be seated on one for long periods of time without feeling any discomfort, providing a clever alternative for a normal seat and meaning companies like Ryanair can cram their customers in with a shoehorn.

The European aviation safety agency has dismissed the idea saying that there is no way that it would be approved in the near future, as it would mean that the certification of an aircraft would have to be changed.

Regardless, how happy would the general public be if the already cramped services of the British low cost airline got that little bit smaller? You already disembark with achy joints. To save money on your trip, why not buy Cheap Travel Insurance? Policies are readily available and will save you time and money.
