subject: BED BUGS INVASION: ARE YOU PREPARED? [print this page]

When I was a child, my father told me many things. I learned so much about my family's history and music through my father's teachings. Every now and then famous entertainers would stop by to see my father. Unfortunately he was dead by that time. I never understood the Bed Bug situation. I am a logical thinker. How could so many insects infest a bed or other area and not be seen? How were these Bed Bugs able to enter a home. Why didn't pesticides or "hotels" kill these Bed Bugs like Raid did? Well I didn't care about the answers. I never saw a Bed Bug.

In recent months Bed Bugs have been "ruling" the news. I also noticed that the local foodstore began selling "Bed Bug" spray. That's when I knew that "we" (that's right you and I) had problems. The leaders often "prepare" us with "hints". They don't always tell us how serious the matter is.

In my opinion the two "most determined to invade and infest" your home are the Roaches and the Bed Bugs. I will now tell you the major difference between the Bed Bug and the other insects.

The Bed Bug is determined to enter your home and infest it. Other insects will make an attempt. Yet if these bugs "see" a struggle (such as forcing one's way into very tight holes) they will retreat. It's not worth risking loss of legs, tentacles, or wings. A bug is also aware that he or she might be killed after "squeezing" through such a small space. Most bugs are looking for food, or a place to increase their tribe (infest). The Bed Bug, on the other hand KNOWS he/she is coming in your home. And if he/she doesn't, then another member or members of their "kind" is. THEY CAN AND WILL INVADE YOUR HOME AND THEY DON'T CARE HOW MANY OF THEM YOU KILL! Where as roaches will "hit the road with speed (as in those RAID commercials)" BED BUGS ARE AN INVADING ARMY. They will continue to send more and more Bed Bugs until your house is invaded. Then the infesting starts. And then you and I have BIG BUG PROBLEMS.

Oh, did I mention that Bed Bugs take over your sleeping areas and BITE YOU. YES, THEY BITE YOU.

Africa has these ants that invade the home during dark hours. Gangs of ants working together to invade and bite everyone and everything. IT'S TOTALLY HORRIFYING. BED BUGS HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF GANG MENTALITY. Bed Bugs are very confident and determined. They don't rush the "invasion" as those African ants would.

So please be aware that if you see a BED BUG then it's a good chance that your home and area will be invaded at some point.

Oh one other thing. BUG SPRAYS DON'T KILL BED BUGS. THOSE TYPE OF SPRAYS MIGHT KILL SMALLER BED BUGS BUT NOT ADULTS. BED BUGS MUST BE KILLED WITH BED BUG SPRAY(S).

Call an exterminator if you see any Bed Bug or Bed Bugs. Some exterminators will give you a free estimate. Others offer a one time fee to cover a years worth of spraying. It will take more than one spraying session to "push this invading army back". It's probably wiser to pay the fee which covers you for a year's worth of sprayings.

I hate bugs. I leave them alone until they enter my house. I will often try to catch them and release them outside. Sometimes killing them is necessary. I understand how serious Bed Bugs are. The pesticiding of termites is a process. Termites (like Roaches) know when to "abandon ship". Insects are highly intelligent. They won't waste too much time loosing family and friends to "fight back". BED BUGS WILL KEEP COMING. IF 200 INFEST AFTER LOOSING 5000, IT IS A VERY FOR THEM. INFESTATION IS THEIR PRIMARY DESIGN.

Seriously, Bed Bugs could find a nice "summer place" outside to make babies. BUT THEY WON'T. FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, BED BUGS ARE DETERMINED TO ENTER HOMES, STORES, CONDOS, THEATRES, ECT. They probably would enter vehicles as well. Bed Bugs are Nature's way of stressing and pissing humans off!

So once again, call an exterminator if you see a Bed Bug or Bed Bugs. There will be some men who feel that they can handle it. I hope you can. I'd rather go with the exterminator as he is trained what to look for. He is also trained with spray levels.

The Bed Bugs are here folks. They are not going anywhere. We might remember when God plagued Egypt with infestations. It is certainly a good idea to seal any holes which allow entrance into your home. We might also work at throwing things out and having a clear and clean house. This makes it harder for the Bed Bugs to hide and infest.

It is also wise to check everything you bring into your homes including bags and clohing. You might want to have cans of Bed Bug spray on board.

We don't like mice either. Yet mice can be killed with traps or cats. Raid kills roaches.

Bed Bugs are not that easy to kill. Even when these die, their tribe continues their primary goal of eventual invasion and infestation of your home(s).
