subject: 3 Effective Affiliate Marketing Campaigns! [print this page] Some of you might be new to this whole "affiliate marketing game" and may be asking, "Well, what is it?!"Affiliate marketing is a marketing practice in which a business rewards one or moreaffiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts. This means that a business such as Coca-Cola will pay you, the affiliate, a commission for purchases thateach customer (you refered to them) makes.
Types of Affiliate Marketing
While there are many ways to earn an income with Affiliate Marketing, I will, in my oppinion, describe the three most common and effective campaigns that I have seen people succeed with. Some of these may work for you, some of them may not. Do your research, test the waters, and find what works best for you.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
Pay-Per-Clickis utilized by advertisers in order to drive traffic from the affiliates web page to the companies page. The advertiser pays the affiliate a small amount when a visitor clicks something such as a link, a banner, or a button which directs them to an advertised product. This form of marketing is easy to use and can be utilized on a small website. Kontera and InfoLinks have had great reviews, fast payouts, and great conversion rates.
Pay-Per-Lead (PPL)
In order for an affiliate to recieve revenue from Pay-Per-Lead, not only must the affiliate direct the potential customer to the advertiser's product and/or service, but that customer must alsoenter specified personal information. The problem with this is obvious, people do not usually like to just hand out personal information.
Pay-Per-Sale (PPS)
Pay-Per-Sale campaigns can be very profitable. Depending on on the services or products you are trying to sell to your visitors, the commission rates can be promising. These sales can also lead toa reoccurring monthlyincome if they are membership based products and/or services. The only problem I see with PPS campaigns is that if you're not selling the right product to the right group in an appealing manor, you will make no sales.
