subject: Going from Your Dead End Job to Empowerment [print this page]

In the summer time of 2009 I found myself in between jobs and so made the decision to check out other choices. Surely there can be other choices operating full-time constructing wealth for someone else? So I jammed water, snacks and Mac the Canine into my crimson Yaris (aka the small purple shoe) and drove all-around New Jersey looking for inspiration about self-employment. I looked at many unusual choices - a tea home, garden centre, rose farm, little motel, pub... It was fun and stimulating but delivered me no nearer to my objective of being in control of when I labored, how I worked, and how much revenue I could make. How could it? I did not define my personal plans and objectives, and checked out only those companies that I liked, and all those that I thought I could find the money for. A few months later, I began to consider franchises on the basis that the company would be established, had a established program and would supply assistance. But I still never got to defining those goals and objectives. Now - one year later - I have identified my perfect business as a work from home business coach and I wish to share some tips with those courageous souls embarking in the very same course. Consider the following prior to headding out on the road, practically or figuratively:

1. Have you been looking at a home business according to what you believe you'd prefer to do? e.g. if you really like to prepare pies, do you want to aquire a bakery? Bear in mind that enjoying a pastime is not identical as rendering it your livelihood. And it might not be lucrative, surely the point of working for almost everyone?

2. Are you currently discounting businesses simply because you do not much like the merchandise or do not fully understand it e.g. I know nothing about automobiles so I would not contemplate being the owner of a Jiffy Lube?

3. What exactly would you like from your enterprise? Upgrade your present livelihood or continue to keep the regular job and supplement earnings? Estate planning? Retirement living planning?

4. How hard do you desire to work? Are you wanting a Work/lifestyle sense of balance, or are you currently prepared to operate 24/7 to obtain your goals? Would you like staff or perhaps do you prefer to manage the company alone?

5. Do you have the abilities necessary to run a business e.g. advertising, financial management, customer support, item development? Are you able to go it on your own? Or are you going to have access to specialized help?

6. If starting a new company, do you have a system, funding, and promotion strategy set up? If an already present company, do you have access to impartial professional advice on value and viability? It's important to know that companies who advertise a business act for the seller, not the buyer. Who will work for you?

It is really exciting to look at a range of companies, but if you are truly serious about really being the Ceo, and/or have a timeline in mind, make certain that you are concentrating on the process and utilize professionals that can aid you and who have your needs as the primary goal.
