subject: Times When A Good Book Is The Best Thing To Have [print this page]

Sometimes there's nothing like a good book that can keep you occupied for several hours. Whether it's the last book of Harry Potter or you're just getting started with Twilight, having a book handy during times where you just simply can't do anything else can literally save you from boredom.

There are many situations wherein bringing a book along with you can help you make the time seem to move quite faster. So if you have a bunch of books lying around at home waiting to be read, how about you bring one along especially when you find yourself in situations such as these.

When you're riding a plane

If you are on a plane that's going to take more than an hour to reach it's destination, what are you going to do the whole time? It would be safe to say that a crossword puzzle just might not cut it when you're stuck there for hours and hours. Because let's face it, if you're headed to a destination that's a thousand miles away, you are going to need to have something to do to pass the time. However if you manage to bring a book along with you during your trip, you'll find your flight to be more bearable. You can even start reading when you're still waiting for your flight at the terminal up to the point where you're about to make your final descent.

When you're at a coffee shop and you're all by yourself

What's a really good way to enjoy your coffee? Have a pastry or a bagel to match your coffee, and have a good book ready to match your meal. Coffee is a beverage that is part of almost everyone's lives. And when you're alone, bring a book with you for some companionship and a really good time as well.

Reading a very good book doesn't just entertain you, it does something more; it captivates your imagination, it keeps you hooked, wanting you to know what happens next without delay the moment you start reading it. So while you're enjoying a nice cup of joe, why not right? Most writers draw their insipiration from coffee shops, you can do the same as you search for inspiration as you read their books as well. Encourage yourself to read and get by all those boring hours of being alone by getting comfortable and ready to read your book of choice.

When you're riding a boat.

Whether you're riding on a ferry or a cruise, you can't really go wrong with bringing along a book with you. The point here is that when you're on a ship, it takes quite a while for you to reach port. If you can't think of anything else to do, pick that book, get reading and start getting yourself busy. Before you know it, you'd be arriving at your destination and yet you don't feel like thirty minutes has passed.
