subject: 4th July Party Ideas [print this page]

Independence Day is a time to celebrate Americas independence from the British. So why not celebrate this year with a party for your friends and family? Take a look at these following 4th July party ideas:

1. Your party must start in advance with invitations. Send them out on mini American flags, either in the post or hand delivered. Get plenty in because you need them for the party!

2. State on your invitations (in a non jokey way) that if anyone turns up not wearing red, white and blue then they will be charged on the door!

3. Consider hiring out a pavilion in your local park has them!

4. Get some face paints so the kids can paint American flags on each others faces.

5. Line the walkway to your property, or pavilion with small American flags.

6. Every American should have a large flag. Make sure it's in a prominent position.

7. Get some squirt guns. Fill them with either red or blue water and have a red team and a blue team.

8. For later, make sure you have patriotic red, white and blue fireworks.

9. Of course the food should be all American. Start off with watermelon. You should have a seed spitting contest, aiming for targets or see who can spit the furthest.

10. You should have a BBQ whether you have hired a pavilion or not. Burgers, sausages and chicken etc.

11. Bake a cake and use strawberries and blueberries for the stars and stripes.

12. Gelatin deserts are easy to make and come in red and blue. Also, of course apple pie!

13. You should consider a range of fancy dress costumes such as Captain America or one of the founding Fathers. Cause a stir by turning up as a British redcoat.
