subject: A-klasse Electric, A Creation Of Mercedes And Tesla [print this page] Mercedes will present at the Paris Motor Show an Electric version A-Class model, developed in collaboration with Americans from Tesla. The number of copies will be limited to only 500 units, so this will be a special release done by the two auto manufacturers.
Mercedes will exhibit at the Paris Motor Show the ecological interpretation of an A-Class model. According to Germans spokesman Emeera Shirin, the Stuttgart manufacturer will showcase a new version of the subcompact model, but this time the fuel will be : electricity.
Also named e-Cell, the mode will be held running in alternative electricity from a battery life provided by Tesla, marking the first fruit of cooperation between the two companies. Electric version will arise in a limited number of units in the German plant in Rastatt. From the first information it seems to be only about 500 copies, intended for the exclusive circle of clients who will experience several months the concept of Mercedes regarding alternative mobility.
The electric version will be receiving input power with a battery cell 4000, that Tesla developed to sustain a torque of 290 Nm and instead offer a range of 200 kilometers. More details about the new A-Class power but will be offered by the Germans at the official Parisian show.
This is definately the start of a good cooperation between the companies, and since Tesla is becoming more popular in certain social classes, we can expect the German car manufacturer Mercedes to try and develop full electrical cars on other rage on models, like the B-Klass or even on the C-Class on smaller engines ( if we can say small, when talking about Mercedes ). A step forward for eco power and high quality vehicles, if we consider the reputation of the German producer and the notoriety of the electric engines from Tesla.
