Zumba dance music blends that of Latin and International music creating an exciting and dynamic fitness routine. This routine with its diverse music blends attracts people of all ages and provides a well balanced workout for anyone who practices it.

Zumba was created in the 1990's by a famous dancer and aerobics instructor known as Beto Perez. During one of his aerobic sessions, he forgot his regular music that he usually played. He grabbed a handful of Latin tapes that he had and used them in the session. Everyone was inspired and motivated and the class went extremely well. The students even asked him to use this music in their sessions rather than the regular music they usually used. This prompted Perez to come up with the zumba music idea.

Zumba dance music can consist of different sounds and go great with dance moves such as flamenco, mambo, salsa, meringue and the cha-cha. You can also hear International sounds great for dance styles such as belly dancing and even hip-hop in the mix. Each instructor is different with the type of music they play, however, they usually find a music style that flows naturally with the rhythm of the class and the students personalities.

If you are trying to determine what types of zumba dance music is right for your personal routine, there are plenty of places to tap into. For instance, you can turn your television set on and tune into the "Latin" stations to find music.

There is plenty of Latin music online in places such as Rhapsody, Pandora and iTunes. You can even tune into your favorite Latin radio station to listen to a variety of different mixes. If you are having a hard time finding Latin music, just ask your instructor to write down some songs that you can buy or download off the Internet.

Zumba dance music is not hard to find and can easily turn any zumba dance workout into a fun time. Experiment with certain sounds and mixes to find the right music for your own personality.
