subject: Mental Focus – The Clear Path To Wealth And Prosperity [print this page] The Orderly Brain The Orderly Brain
"You can't depend on your judgment when your imagination is out of focus." Mark Twain.
The orderly brain, it catalogs where your stuff is located, even when your stuff is in a clutter, it creates neural pathways to keep track of your stuff. You can view this matter another way by using the analogy of a map; if you were to keep you stuff neat and organized, the mental map inside your brain would also be organized with direct pathways for you to find your stuff.
On the other hand if your stuff was in a clutter, the mental map would still be organized because that's how the brain functions but, your mental map, your internal pathways will resemble a plate of spaghetti. Your brain will still work in this spaghetti state but, why burden it with the extra work when there are other things you can be thinking about? Let me ask you, would you go out and buy a road map for your trip that resembled a plate of spaghetti? No, you would in fact buy a map that was of the highest order.
Something else to ponder, have you ever wonder why it is that people with clutter dislike and sometimes dislike to the point of great opposition when someone tries to help them organize their clutter? Forcing someone to create new neural pathways, a new mental map to their stuff, can be a frustrating shock to the person. Mental change can't be rushed; time must be given for the process.
I know, some of you are saying that you have no clutter and that your neural pathways are as straight as the day is long. Let me ask you this, are you carrying around a to-do list that keeps growing year after year, thing you've been planning to get to but, haven't yet? It might be time put your to-do list to paper and create a plan to take care of it and thus relieving your brain of going over it and over it endlessly.
Tuning The Brain With Music
Much has been written about the benefits that music has on a person, especially in how it may actually tune the brain, that it brings calmness and focus to the person. These writings often point to the classical period of Mozart with its 60 beats per minute beat pattern and referring to it as the Mozart Effect', which has the ability to activate the left and right brain hemispheres which increases learning. Now whether this is true or not is for you to decide.
I brought this up to point out something that has gone mostly unnoticed. One of the main differences between the Wealthy' and everyone else, is that the Wealthy' listen to classical music and opera on a regular basis and those that are not of the Wealthy', for the most part, do not listen to this type of music, or do not listen to it on a regular basis. I myself, find this difference to be a very interesting observation.
Give Your Brain Something Real To Work On
Once you have started the process of removing burdensome tasks you had been having your brain perform for probably many years now and re-tuning it, bringing calmness to your brain. This is when you should give your brain new information to work on, information for new neural pathways to be created.
Ask yourself what you would enjoy doing to achieve wealth and prosperity, you know yourself better than anyone. Research your subject online, get some books your subject of interest, find a class nearby you can take. Now that your brain has the extra freedom, give your brain something real to work on.
