subject: Diamond Jewelry - How do you know when it's appropriate? [print this page]

Diamond jewelry is indeed at the top of its very own food chain, being the most valued and most expensive precious stone there is. Most of us love our diamonds, but some are afraid to wear them, not wanting to look like we are showing off. The sad thing about diamond jewelry nowadays is that a lot of women tend to leave their diamonds at home because they are not sure what is appropriate. Sometimes, their eyes catch a new diamond necklace or earrings and they immediately begin to wonder, where can I wear those?

There are three things on how to properly wear diamond jewelry - color, stone and style. Getting the right combination on what diamond jewelry to go with what attire is a very good way to determine a woman's taste, power and confidence.

For work, it's always best to go with something that is relatively simple- nothing too flashy. For example, a really elegant diamond necklace will always do the trick; however, some bosses are not too comfortable letting their employees wear diamond earrings because of the sparkle that is so prominent. That's why pearl earrings are preferred.

However, when it comes to a party or dinner, even if it's a company one, you can go all out with your jewelry; but make sure that it matches your attire. A diamond set would work perfectly with red, black and blue; certain shades of white may just be too bright, especially if the diamond jewelry sparkles. Beware of purple, green and yellow with diamonds- not in general, just certain shades.
